教育在社会主义物质文明与精神文明建设中的地位与作用究竟是什么，“这是马克民主义思想家、教育家们历来十分关注的问题”，邓小平同志在这个问题上给了我们十分明确的、科学的答案，为党和国家把教育列为社会主义建设战略重点之一，提供了强大的思想理论基础。邓小平同志明确提出，知识分子（自然包括教师）是工人阶级的组成部分，这一科学的论述，也是对马克思主义教育基本原理的历史性贡献。
What is the status and role of education in the construction of socialist material and spiritual civilization? “This is an issue that has always been of great concern to Marxist thinkers and educators,” and Comrade Deng Xiaoping gave us a very clear answer to this question. Scientific answers provide a powerful ideological and theoretical foundation for the party and the state to regard education as one of the strategic priorities of socialist construction. Comrade Deng Xiaoping clearly pointed out that intellectuals (including teachers of nature, of course) are part of the working class. This scientific exposition is also a historic contribution to the basic tenets of Marxist education.
