冯沅君(1900.9.4—1974.6.17)原名恭兰,后改为淑兰,字德馥,笔名大琦、沅君、漱峦、淦女士等。出生于唐河县一个书香门第。父冯树侯是清末进士,做过湖广总督张之洞的幕僚和湖北崇阳县知县,后病逝任所。母吴夫人携子女回归故里。吴夫人通晓诗书,思想开明,曾为当地女小校长。辛亥革命后,她让其子友兰、景兰远赴京沪读大、中学堂,自己在家向女儿口授四书五经和古典诗词。“五四”前夕,二兄长从京沪带回的新书刊吸引着沅君。她不再满足于深闺家教,并对家里给她订的婚事表示反抗,吴夫人毅然决定让女儿赴京读书。
Feng Yuanjun (1900.9.4-1974.6.17) formerly known as Christine, later renamed Shulan, the word De Fu, the name of big chi, Yuan Jun, Shuluan, Gan lady and so on. Born in Tanghe County, a scholarly door. Father Feng Shushou was a late Qing dynasty, did Hunan and Guangxi governor Zhang Zhidong’s aides and magistrate in Chongyang County, Hubei Province, died later died. Mother Wu back to hometown with their children. Mrs. Wu proficient in poetry, enlightened, former local female primary school principal. After the revolution of 1911, she let her son Yu Lan and Jing Lan go to the Beijing-Shanghai high school and middle school to dictate four books and classical poems to their daughters at home. On the eve of the May 4th Movement, the new books brought by the two brothers brought back from Beijing and Shanghai attracted Yuan Jun. She was no longer content with her tutor, and expressed opposition to her family’s marriage proposal. Mrs. Wu decided to let her daughter study in Beijing.
