柳杉(Cryptomeria fortunei Hooibrenkex Otto et Dietr)是我国南方重要的造林树种之一.一般适生于空气湿润、夏季凉爽的山区或海洋性气候.虽材质略次于杉木,但在寒冷、干旱或贫瘠的不良环境中,生长优于杉木,其耐寒性、抗风性、抗雪折等均比杉木强.近年来有的研究者指出,“柳杉因其分布区域广泛,南起两广,北到山东半岛,东从东海各岛,西至川西到云贵高原,跨越北纬22—32°.长期的地理隔离,可能形成种源群体间的巨大遗传差异……”,认为“在柳杉广泛的分布区内,确实存在着优良种源”.我省通过引种实践也证明柳杉具有一定的生产潜力,不仅在苏南低山丘陵山洼生长良好,
