在硫同位素质谱测定工作中,需要把各种含硫矿样中的硫经一定的化学过程转化为二氧化硫,为完成这一过程所采用的仪器称为样品分离仪(或样品分离系统).目前国内外均采用玻璃真空系统进行样品分离.由于采用了玻璃活塞式阀门,不仅操作困难容易损坏,而且还必须配备技术熟练的玻璃工进行焊接与维修.更重要的是由于玻璃活塞所用的真空密封脂中含有大量有机硫化合物,对硫同位素组成测定工作有明显的影响,也无法实现自动化.
