In the five hundred years BC, Pythagoras, an ancient Greek philosopher, studied a large number of right-angled triangles and found that the square of the hypotenuse is exactly equal to the sum of the squares of the two sides. He realized that this was an extremely important theorem. In order to celebrate, he ordered the killing of one hundred cows and held a grand banquet. This theorem is therefore called the Pythagorean theorem by later generations. Where Pythagoras knows, far from the east China’s history of “three hooks, four shares, and five strings” was recorded more than 600 years before him. The following series of selected questions about the Pythagorean theorem, for students to refer to.
