莲花山上风光好,苍松翠柏山花俏,水帘洞伏天冰不消,山腰里云彩搭的桥。这首“花儿”描述的,就是著名的莲花山。莲花山位于临夏回族自治州康乐县境内,距康乐县城70公里,海拔3700米。每年农历六月初一至初六在这儿举行的“花儿”会,为它增添了无穷魅力。“花儿”是流行于甘肃、青海、宁夏等省区部分地区各民族的一种民歌,分为两大派:河州“花儿”和莲花山“花儿”(或称洮岷“花儿”)。莲花山“花儿”会上演唱的以莲花山“花儿”为主。
