There is more and more evidence recently that beta 2 adrenergic agents can inhibit the release of the mediators. They may exert their anti-allergic effects by increasing intracellular cAMP levels. The purpose of this study was to know: 1. Is there a potent local application of fenoterol in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis; 2. Is there any therapeutic value of this effect? The subjects were 35 adult patients. The test was performed by double-blind crossover method. A daily dose of 400 μg was injected intranasally.
