茶室,对茶师的意义,与其说是为了单纯的泡一杯茶,更多的是茶与其整个空间乃至心灵的一场呈现和洗礼的过程。在行茶前,每位茶师须先沐手涤心,行茶礼,再回座静默行茶。茶人陈海英表示,泡茶是秉持著「勤正慧慈」的理念。并说明「勤」是勤于清洁茶具,注重泡茶的卫生条件;「正」是施茶礼仪,心态正向光明;「慧」是泡茶的技巧与专业知识,更重要的是人生的智慧:「慈」是喝茶者的心量,茶无谓好坏,只有适不适合自己,且愿意去契合别人。
