Flameless atomic absorption method for the direct quantification of blood lead and urine lead due to the interference of coexisting components is so severe that it is difficult to measure. In order to reduce the interference of coexisting components, there is a report on the determination of (NH 4) 3PO 4 as a matrix modifier. Using Pd as a matrix modifier, the authors are able to quantify blood lead and urine lead without interfering with coexisting components. Method: The apparatus used was a Model 855 atomic absorption spectrophotometer and a FLA-100 flameless atomizer manufactured by Japan Jaller-Ash Co., Ltd. Lead was used for the absorption signal
