本文主要讨论传统文学观念在近代引进外国小说时所起的作用。梁启超等人继承“文以载道”的传统文学思想,赋予了外国政治小说、科学小说及侦探小说以开启民智、改革社会政治的重大使命,使外国小说受到了文人读者的普遍欢迎。梁启超等人对外国小说作家身份地位的渲染,也激发了近代文人翻译外国小说的热情。本文认为,林纾以古文翻译外国小说,对国人了解外国小说的艺术成就、并最终接受外国小说起到了至关重要的作用。
This article mainly discusses the role of traditional literary concepts in introducing modern foreign novels in modern times. Liang Qichao et al. Inherited the traditional literary thought of “writing as a medium” and given great missions of foreign political novels, science fiction novels and detective novels to open up the wisdom of the people and reforming society and politics, making the foreign fiction universally welcomed by literary readers. Liang Qichao et al. Rendered the status of foreign fiction writers and also inspired the enthusiasm of modern literati in translating foreign novels. This article argues that Lin Shu’s translation of foreign novels by classical prose has played a crucial role in understanding the artistic achievements of foreigners in foreign novels and eventually accepting foreign novels.
