为了深入研究清末政局的变化,有必要对当时政坛上形形色色人物台前幕后的具体活动、相互关系以及他们的思想、心态变化,进行认真细致的考察分析。北京大学图书馆珍藏的汪荣宝宣统年间的日记(稿本),为我们的这项研究提供了相当具体、生动的第一手资料。这部日记,不仅披露了中国第一部宪法草案起草的经过,而且生动地记载着汪荣宝等清末政坛活跃人物在这个大变动年代的种种表现和心态变化,使读者能感受到辛亥革命前后中国社会变动的脉搏。
In order to study thoroughly the changes of the political situation in the late Qing Dynasty, it is necessary to conduct careful and detailed investigation and analysis of the specific activities, the interrelationships and the changes in their ideology and mentality behind the scenes of all kinds of people in political circles at that time. The diary (manuscript) of Wang Rongbao’s reign during the Peking University Library’s collection provided quite specific and vivid first-hand information to our study.
