A mummy is a non-corrupted body of a dead person or animal whose skin has been preserved. Many mummies have survived for thousands of years and are still preserved. They can “tell” the world that the deceased or dead animals were alive. Mummies may be occasional masterpieces in extremely arid, cold, or humid natural environments, but are more artificially produced for religious reasons. The ancient Egyptians produced mummies to provide a place for the souls of the dead; ancient Peruvians also believed that the mummies of their relatives after death were still important members of the family.
