The size of the working speed range of the tower crane lifting mechanism is the most important indicator to measure the tower crane working performance and production efficiency. If the NGW differential transmission is used in the hoisting mechanism, a better working speed can be obtained. This paper discusses the design of an NGW differential transmission type hoisting mechanism that can be used in medium-sized attachment tower cranes (such as 40 t·m class) as an example.
