研究社会主义初级阶段学校体育的理论与实践,重要而紧迫的问题是应当真正把握我国现阶段学校体育的范畴和性质。文章联系国內同行对此问题的认识,从我国现阶段的学校体育属于世界现代学校体育的范畴,是社会主义性质的现代学校体育,是社会主义初级阶段的现代学校体育这样三个层次上进行了论述,并阐述了此一认识的理论和现实意义,在此基础上提出了现阶段发展我国学校体育的基本思路。
