概论恙虫病又名日本洪水热、热带斑疹伤寒、小蛛传斑疹伤寒或草莽斑疹伤寒。系以恙虫的幼虫作传染媒介的一种急性传染病。其病原为寄生于田鼠或其它野生(?)齿动物之立克次氏体。人被感染后,骤然起病,头痛、眼花、高热、皮肤出疹子,经二三周后退热;于被恙虫幼虫螫刺处形成溃疡和局部淋巴结肿大,并有压痛。本病之发生,只限于受恙虫幼虫所螫刺的人群,人与人之间无直接传染之危险。金霉素、氯霉素治疗有特效。
