二十年代末期,在台安县城东便门里路南有一座美丽恬静的校园,这就是著名爱国将领张学良将军当年为台安捐资兴办的新民小学。这所学校距今已有五十多年的历史。 1928年夏,张学良将军继承父业开始执掌东北军政大权。为励精图志,他不但重视抓好东三省的公办教育,而且还慷慨解囊,捐出巨款,在沈阳、海城、台安等地创办了数所中小学。张学良将军因出生在台安,所以离开八角台兴(今县城故名)之后,仍对这里怀有深厚的感情。他不仅对台安县的亲朋师友格外垂青,而且对台安的文化教育事业也非常关心。民国十九年他曾为《台安县志》亲笔题
In the late 1920s, there was a beautiful and tranquil campus to the south of Taian County, Wandi Lane.
