Showa Twenty-six years (1951), Professor Matsushige pine published his first full translation of 120 copies of “Dream of Red Mansions” (Iwanami Shoten, all 14 volumes) completed in 11 years. “Dream of Red Mansions” from the first introduction of the liberal government six years (1795) counted finally to have a full translation, in fact, experienced more than 150 years. Why do we need such a long period of time? This is because the controversy surrounding the Chinese version of the scriptures after the middle of Meiji period, especially for vernacular Chinese, is more appropriate for which style of writing is used and the disagreements are so great that it affects its progress. This is the reason why Japanese version 120 times later came out. In this regard, the author of the Taisho eleven years (1922) published Piraoka Dragon City’s “Dream of Red Mansions,” the main line for a little discussion.
