  Since CO2 is widely regarded as a major greenhouse gas,potentiallycontributing to global warming,the separation ofCO2fromgas mixtures is animportant operation in natural gas processing,petroleum refining andcoal gasification industries.Absorption of carbon dioxide with water is a physical process.Desorption of the absorption solution can berealized by flashing.Compared with chemical absorption such as in aqueousalkanolamine solutions [1,2],absorption and desorption with water is lower energy consumption.In this study,CO2 absorption using rotating jet bed was studied with water as an absorbent[3].The influence of experimental conditions on CO2 absorption rate,including rotor speed,absorbent flow rate and gas flow rate were investigated.The results showed that liquid volumetric mass-transfercoefficientincreased with the rise of rotor speed with a speed not high than 1000 rpm.When the speed was more than 1000 rpm,the liquid volumetric mass-transfer coefficient increased slowly,and then,tended to be stable.Liquid volumetric mass-transfer coefficient changed little with the increasinggas flow rate.And with the absorbent flow rate increasing,liquid volumetric mass-transfer coefficient increased slowly.
